Instructions

Take the medicine without food.

Do not take other medicines by mouth within 1 hour of taking this medicine. The body may not be able to absorb them.

Before starting your dose, fill the provided container to the fill line with water. Swallow each tablet with a sip of water, then drink the rest of the water over 15-20 minutes. About an hour after taking the last tablet, refill the container with water and drink the entire amount over 30 minutes. About 30 minutes after drinking the second container of water, fill the container again and drink over 30 minutes.

If you have severe nausea, bloating, or abdominal pain during this process, drink the water more slowly until your symptoms improve.

Finish taking the medicine and required amount of water at least 2 hours before your procedure unless your doctor tells you differently.

Store at room temperature away from heat, light, and moisture. Do not keep in the bathroom.

Drink plenty of water while on this medicine.

Do not take this medicine with milk or milk products (such as yogurt).

While on this medicine, only drink clear liquids, such as water, apple juice, broth, tea, black coffee or gelatin. Do not eat solid foods or juices that contain pulp. Avoid liquids that are red or purple in color.

This medicine can reduce the absorption of other medicines. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the best times to use this product.

If you miss a dose, contact your doctor for instructions.

Drug interactions can change how medicines work or increase risk for side effects. Tell your health care providers about all medicines taken. Include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal medicines. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist before starting or stopping any medicine.

This medicine contains sodium. If you are on a low sodium diet, consider this as part of your total sodium diet.

Keep all appointments for medical exams and tests while on this medicine.

Cautions

Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine.

Do not use the medication any more than instructed.

Do not drink beverages with alcohol while on this medicine.

Contact your doctor if you notice a change in the amount or darkening of your urine.

Tell the doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, planning to be pregnant, or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy, this medicine should be used only when clearly needed. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits.

Do not take other laxatives while taking this medicine.

Do not share this medicine with anyone who has not been prescribed this medicine.

Some patients have serious side effects from this medicine. Ask your pharmacist to show you the information from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and discuss it with you.

Side Effects

The following is a list of some common side effects from this medicine. Please speak with your doctor about what you should do if you experience these or other side effects.

  • bloating
  • diarrhea
  • nausea and vomiting
  • stomach upset or abdominal pain

Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you notice any of these more serious side effects:

  • confusion
  • dizziness
  • fainting
  • severe or persistent headache
  • fast or irregular heart beats
  • signs of kidney damage (such as change in urine color or bubbly urine)
  • seizures
  • severe stomach or bowel pain
  • blood in stool
  • urinating less often
  • severe or persistent vomiting

A few people may have an allergic reaction to this medicine. Symptoms can include difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help quickly.
