Your Lung Cancer Clinic Health Care Team (The James)


Many people work together to provide your care. Here is a description of the different members of your clinic health care team. Use this handout to write down their names and phone numbers.

Health Care Team Members

What They Do    Names and Numbers
Lung Cancer DoctorA doctor who directs your treatment and coordinates your care with other doctors and team members. 
Nurse Practitioner (NP)A nurse with advanced training who may prescribe medicine.


Nurses (RN)A nurse plans and directs your nursing care and provides education. 
Patient Care Associate (PCA)A PCA helps your nurse provide care. 
Palliative Care DoctorA doctor with advanced training who helps manage your pain and symptoms. 
Patient Care Resource Manager (PCRM)A case manager who helps you coordinate your care at home. 
Social WorkerThe social worker can help you and your family with concerns such as coping or finding resources to meet your needs. 
Nurse ManagerA nurse that manages the nursing staff and the care provided in the clinic. 
Registered DietitianThe dietitian provides education about nutrition and food choices. 
Patient NavigatorA patient navigator provides support as you move through the health care system and connects you with resources and information about your care and treatment. 
Patient RepresentativeThe Patient Experience Department can help you with any concerns or questions you may have during your visit.
